Let's start at the beginning

What is server housing?

Housing (also called colocation) is the rental of physical space in a professional datacenter to host your own equipment. The building guarantees electrical continuity, climate control, Internet connectivity and physical access control: you bring the hardware, we provide the rest.

Private racks at Digital Realty MadridTwo independent rooms, connected to each other with two fibre-optic links over redundant equipment.
Genuinely redundant powerEvery rack has two 32A sockets (A+B) on different feeds, backed by redundant batteries and diesel generators.
Connectivity and IPs included100 Mbps at the 95th percentile (upgradeable), two uplinks per device and static IP addresses ready for production.
Controlled access 24×7Strict access control by on-site security staff: only authorised engineers can work on the equipment.
Tier III datacenter

Infrastructure that doesn't fail.

Your hardware lives in the same datacenter where companies like Google, Facebook and Netflix host their equipment. This is what stands behind every U you rent.

Connectivity

MLAG + BGP network with redundant fibre links across multiple carriers - GTT, Arelion, Orange, CDN77, Voxility, DE-CIX and Starnix - and an open peering policy.

Network redundancy

The fibre links are spread across two Arista switches connected in MLAG, which in turn connect to the BGP routers. No single point of failure.

Electrical redundancy

Two independent power feeds, redundant batteries and diesel generators: a complex electrical grid that guarantees 99.98% uptime (Tier 3++).

Climate control

Certified chillers keep temperature and humidity at ideal conditions for servers. Inside the cubes it is genuinely cold.

Physical security

24×7 access control by on-site security staff. Only authorised engineers can work on the equipment, and every visit is logged.

Fire protection

A strict protocol to keep flammable materials out and a comprehensive automatic fire detection and suppression system.

Our network, at your service

Connect like a carrier.

By colocating your equipment with us you lean on the same network that powers our VPS: AS59432, 7 redundant links and up to 200 Gbps of capacity per rack. And you can test it yourself from the Looking Glass, no sign-up required.

Under 1 ms to any Spanish ISPPremium peering with Google, Cloudflare, Amazon and Microsoft, plus presence at DE-CIX: your users notice it.
Cross-connect with any carrierIf you need a direct link to another carrier present in the datacenter, we run the cross-connect for you.
Upgradeable bandwidthThe included 100 Mbps at the 95th percentile is just the starting point: increase the throughput whenever your project demands it.
Anti-DDoS protection availableThe same mitigation of up to 10 Tbps that protects our network can also protect your colocated equipment.
Frequently asked questions

Housing questions, answered.

What is server housing?
Housing, also known as colocation, refers to renting physical space in a data centre to host IT equipment. The building is fitted out to guarantee electrical continuity, climate control, Internet connectivity and physical access control.
What does GINERNET's housing service include?
The space inside the rack, electricity, connectivity and static IP addresses are all included. It is a space ready for you to rack your hardware and get to work: plug in your servers and you are on the Internet.
What kind of services can I run from housing?
Any service that needs an Internet connection: ISPs, web hosting, dedicated servers, VPS, remote administration, backups… If your project lives on a server, it can live in our housing.
How much does equipment installation cost?
It is quoted case by case: we assess the quantity and type of equipment to be racked and the engineering hours required. Tell us what you want to host and we'll give you a fixed quote before starting.
What if I need more electrical power?
Extra power is billed at €50/month per additional 100 W over what your plan includes. Every rack has two 32A sockets (A+B) on different feeds, so there is plenty of headroom to grow.
Can I physically access my equipment?
The datacenter maintains strict 24×7 access control with on-site security staff, and only authorised engineers can work on the equipment. If you need a physical intervention, coordinate it with us and we'll arrange it.
Housing or one of your servers? Which suits me?
Housing makes sense when you already own your hardware or need very specific equipment (appliances, GPUs, telephony…). If what you are after is compute capacity with no strings attached, a pay-per-use VPS will probably work out better: no upfront investment, no depreciation and scalable in seconds.
